April 2024 - the final push!
Here we are, only two weeks to go until the grand opening date! It’s Easter weekend so we are busy with painting as you saw in the end of the last blog, and the next job is to start work on that vinyl we were given!
With the way the door has been installed we are going to possibly be a tiny bit short on vinyl but we decide to give it a good go anyway, and set to cutting and laying it!
Now it’s my turn to start getting my hand in there even more, and finally I can do my feature wall! I had seen a video with a wall I loved the style of, I had narrowed down my colours and then sketched out my plan, and then just went for it, and painted it all free hand myself. I am so proud of how it has come out!
With all the paint and vinyl done, the gate needed to be set up too; it took a lot of planning ahead of the vinyl being laid as to what we were going to do, with secret rods set in for strength. Now that it is all set in it is so solid and strong but also invisible where and how it’s joined on so it looks incredibly tidy!
The backflow valve gets checked, an additional vent is installed, and the council signs off the whole thing with the code compliance certificate being issued the week before opening day! Whew!
And now it is all about finishing touches! Decorating, plants, bringing all my tools in, setting it all up to be working!
And finally, both Fable and Sprocket get bathed in here as my first ever proper use of the salon! It’s all working and we are ready! Opening day is TOMORROW! See you all there!
